Bonberger/Good Shepherd

The genocide of 1994 left Rwanda devastated and many people without a family to provide for them. Joss Umuganwa fled the country but returned after some years trying to establish a new life. It was during this time that she came into contact with a small group of widows and their children, orphans and homeless people. She helped and encouraged them.

Later on, when Joss had to leave Rwanda, she was not able to support them as she had done previously. Therefore she founded Bonberger.

Bonberger enables Rwandan people to have a new family, a roof above their heads and gives them a source of income. In turn, they themselves have to share their resources, time and gained knowledge with others.
